Done- ee Dare-Ko

Hi, today I'm going to write a Donie Darko review. First of all this movie is an art production that homage to 80s culture (that references other 80s films). When I saw this movie I can write that he is an smart and troubled dude, who is misunderstood by his enviroment (like school and his parents). It doesn't get clear if his schizophrenic episodes are the result of stop taking medication or is real life beacuse medication is just placebo. I don't think it is a great film, but maybe because I don't get it at all or just aspires to greatness. It is a very weird movie, just remember the evil-looking rabbit telling him about the world is going to end in like 28ish days. Then an aeroplane engina fall fall from the sky to Donnie's  house but the next day FAA tells his family no planes were in the area that night. Some of what I read on Internet was kind of just theological speculation. But it could be correct because there are a lot of blank places in the narrative.

So my review is: It is not a great film, and in fact is deeply flawed. The science fiction does not hold up. Everything in the movie can be product of his overheated brain. You can argue that some of what happens in Donnie Darko may be real or just fantasy, but the distinctions are not all that important because all these things intermingle freely, its like when you wake up sometimes and there is a moment when you are not quite sure what is real, or a dream o a memory.

Proud Prout Prawd

Today I'm going to write about something I am proud of. It should be easy to recognize that/those things but not for me. I guess I'm proud of being right now studying in a university at Santiago since I was born on the northern city of Chile, my school was awful and almost all of my classmates of my school end up in local universitys with no effort. It was just normal to get up to 500 point on PSU. Luckily, we moved to Iquique and I entered to one of the "goods" schools of that city and there was like a force (or brainwash) to apply in just a few universities across the country like UTFSM, UCH, UdeC, etc. I first enter to UTFSM but, even though my first year was good, at the second one I realize I was not like my other classmates in a way of not being that motivated with the courses. So I just leave and came as soon as posible to my father's place. I was really confused about what to study after that but one person helped me to deal with that; my best friend's mom.who was a Geographer and told me about her career. However, I'm now very happy even though I really hate the difference between departments at Universidad de Chile (like FEN and FAU).

2011 Paul McCartney's concert in Chile: Weird and expensive

What's up, readers! Today I am pleased to write about a concert or exhibition I went. So, like the title says, I will write about Macca's concert in Chile that took place in 2011. I was a very big fan of The Beatles when I was still at school. I knew almost all of  their songs on guitar and I used to sing them over and over again. It was even lame and cheesy, but those were good times. When I finished school in 2009, I move over The Beatles because I was bored of their songs (lol) but the McCartney ones. His albums (and its production) - Ecce Cor Meum and Flaming Pie - were the best. THEN, the presale for his concert, in May 11th 2011 at Estadio Nacional, was open and I couldn't believe it. The bad news were that those tickets cost me like 40,000 chilean pesos (balcony "seats"). However, I went with 3 friends - Gonzalo, Felipe and Bruno - and it was a very good concert. The weird thigs about it were 2: First, the opening act was in charge of DJ Chris Holmes. I don't like his show at all, maybe because I was too excited waiting for McCartney, I don't know, it was a bit boring, also, I don't like those The Beatles mixed songs. And finally, there was a moment when a face shows on the LCD at the back of McCartney and his band: it was Obama's face. Nowadays, I still don't have an explanation of that. I searched that in forums and with other people of the audience. Whatever. Naciotal Stadium is a nice place for concerts, but its acoustic doesn't seems to be good enough.

This year I went to Jorge Drexler and Placido Domingo concerts. I went with my father both of them. The first one was very good! I really dont used to listen to him but it was a very good gig. And, about Placido's concert, it was cool! My mom told me about it and its cultural value, so I went. Was awesome.

Thanks for reading!

READ REED RID

Hi guys. Today I'm going to write about what I'm reading at the moment. It's called One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. Some people will whiney about it because "it's a book of basic lecture", but I really dont care and I'm not a big fan of books. The genre is magical realist. I'm Reading it because its amazing. I'm at the first half of it and the story its very interesting. Its about the story of the Buendía family in the town of Macondo. The founding man of Macondo, José Arcadio Buendía, and his wife, leave Riohacha, Colombia, to find a better life and a new home. One night of their emigration journey, while camping on a riverbank, José Arcadio Buendía dreams of "Macondo", a city of mirrors that reflected the world in and about it. Upon awakening, he decides to found Macondo at the river side; after days of wandering the jungle. That's like the very first part of the plot.

Even though I'm reading that book, I prefer geographical, economical and sociological ones than novels. I'm too lazy for the last ones.

I prefer night for Reading. There are not disturbing sounds like car horns, ambulances, or even helicopters (I live near Posta Central...). It's very quiet and confortable. The bad thing is that I  fall sleep a bit late so waking up is a torture sometimes.

Today I'm going to write about a song (and its album I like, which is Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard. Yellowcard is a band since 1997 but I just knew them in 2005 with that song. I really don't know about its biography, but they took a "pause"between 2008 and 2010. I like it because its lyrics and instrumental was so good in my opinion. Although what I'm going to write next its a bit cheesy: It makes me feel nostalgic for those moments that all of us want to last forever.

Also: the video is so freaking cool.

Lyrics:

There's a place off Ocean Avenue
Where I used to sit and talk with you
We were both 16 and it felt so right
Sleeping all day, staying up all night
Staying up all night
There's a place on the corner of Cherry Street
We would walk on the beach in our barefeet
We were both 18 and it felt so right
Sleeping all day, staying up all night
Staying up all night
If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
Let your waves crash down on me
And take me away, yeah yeah
There's a piece of you that's here with me
It's everywhere I go, it's everything I see
When I sleep I dream and it gets me by
I can make believe that you're here tonight
That your here tonight
If I could you find now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me
And take me away, yeah
I remember the look in your eyes
When I told you that this was goodbye
You were begging me not tonight
Not here, not now
We're looking up at the same night sky
We keep pretending the sun will not rise
We'll be together for one more night
Somewhere, somehow
If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me
And take me away, yeah yeah

still under construction

Today I'm going to write about a worldclass teacher. His name is Juan Cossio and was my History and Geography teacher from 2004 until 2009. I remembered him because he was an excellent person with my classmates and me. Although we were a bit lazy, disorganized and inmature class he always was with us in all kind of situations. One time we get involved in a massive fight with the neighbor classroom and 2 of our classmates got punished but  not expelled because teacher Cossio did everything to save them since they weren't mean guys, it was just the joy of the momento. Fun fact: there was like 5 other teaches that were in favor to expell them because "they are doing nothing at school". Nowadays, both of them are halfway to finish Civil Mechanical Engineer at  Federico Santamaría University.

We did a lot of encounters in almost all our classmates houses.

What you liked or disliked a
bout this teacher,
What good or bad qualities the teacher had.
Write at least 200 words. Leave a comment on my blog and on the blogs of at least 3 classmates.

Someone said: Countryside food is the best food. I agree.

Today I'm gonna write about a family meal that I remember and enjoyed. It was in 2013 in the countryside at Rancagua. There was a lot of people (like my granmother's nephews and my father. Also, there were guests that doesn't even were from my family. I really don't know what we were celebrating (maybe a birthday) but there was a lot a food. So much meat, chicken, entrails, etc. All of us end that meal in round-shaped bodies. Wel, I remember that I ate (for the first time) small intestines and other weird taste/looking kinds of food that I rather not know their names.

Other thing I remember is when my dad and me took the train  to return to Santiago, a whole horde of Little kids and his parents took it too 5 stations afters we did it. Damn you, Buin Zoo. At first it was very annoying to have crying/complaining kids everywhere but then I realized I was/am like those demons sometimes with my parents.

Finally, we arrived to Santiago healthy and complete with a big container filled with meat, potatoes and other stuff.
